The assignment
For the African Development Bank's Water and Sanitation Department (AHWS), economic and financial analysis and preparation of the project completion report (PCR) of PEPA-MR, which developed resilient water and sanitation infrastructure (simplified water supply systems, boreholes, institutional and household latrines) and strengthened local capacity.
- Retrospective analysis of actual investment, operation and maintenance costs
- Financial viability of the 15 simplified drinking water supply systems and of the tariff recovery model
- Quantification of socio-economic and health benefits
- Profitability indicators of the completed project (ENPV, EIRR)
- Financial sustainability of water user associations and of the standpipe management model
- Lessons learned and recommendations for future projects in the sector
